Do my visitors need a Discord account?
No. Visitors chat in a normal chat window on your website. They don't sign up and never see Discord. Only you and your team use Discord.
What counts as a conversation, and how do I know where I stand?
A conversation counts once, when a visitor starts it. Messages inside an open conversation don't count. Free includes 30 new conversations per month, and the count resets every month on the day you installed Deskcord. Deskcord sends you a Discord DM at 80% and at 100% of the limit, and /usage shows where you stand at any time.
Can my whole team reply?
Yes, on both plans, with no per-seat fees. Anyone who can read and write in your support channel can reply. Visitors see the name and avatar of the person answering.
What's the recommended Discord server setup?
A Support role for everyone who answers visitors, and a private #support channel that only that role and Deskcord can see. Conversations open as threads in that channel, so your community never sees them, and /notifications pings the role when a visitor starts a chat. It works on a dedicated server or on the one your community already uses.
Where are my messages stored? Does Deskcord keep a copy?
Your messages are stored in your Discord server. Deskcord passes them between your website and Discord and keeps no copy. Visitor names and emails are posted in the thread, in your server. Deskcord itself keeps an anonymous ID for each visitor. On Pro, it also stores the visitor's email and the last page they chatted from, to send reply emails through an email provider, and the details your site passes with identify().
What happens if I cancel Pro or remove Deskcord?
Your conversations stay in your Discord server in both cases. If you cancel Pro, your server goes back to the Free plan at the end of the billing period. If you remove the bot or the script tag, the chat stops appearing on your website.
Can I use it on several websites?
Yes, on Pro. Each website can send its conversations to its own Discord channel. Free covers 1 website.
Does it work with Next.js, WordPress, Webflow or Shopify? Can my AI assistant install it?
Yes. Deskcord works on any website where you can add a script tag, including Next.js, WordPress, Webflow, Shopify and plain HTML. You can also copy the setup instructions from this page into your AI coding assistant, and it adds the widget for you.
Is the widget translated for my visitors?
Yes. The widget speaks English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Japanese and Turkish, on both plans. It follows the language of your page, then the visitor's browser, and falls back to English. You can also force a language in your embed code. Your messages and your /customize-widget texts show exactly as you wrote them.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Run /manage-subscription in your Discord server to open the billing portal. There you can switch between monthly and yearly billing, update your card, download invoices or cancel.
